Summary

Once upon a time there was a villain who's name would cause people to pause in fear. Dragon's Breath, a prolific mafia boss who built her criminal empire with the blood of the heroes she crushed under her heel. Granted that was roughly two decades ago, and now Anya is retired with her life of villainy behind her and her family in front of her. She isn't keen to get dragged back in, though the rise of an old underling of Anya's may just force her back and not on the side she expected.

In the current day, Anya spends much of her time with her new job, ironically cleaning up the injuries and dealing with the aftermath from the new age villains and heroes. She's not happy that she's ending back up in the New York underground, and even less so that she's somehow on the hero side of the nonsense. Nevertheless, someone has to help guide these clueless new heroes, and apparently that someone is an ex-mafia boss who was haunting the streets only about two decades earlier. At least she seems to be doing more to help than the actual elder heroes, though that might just be because the necks of her husband and son are on the line, alongside several secrets she's been keeping she'd rather not be revealed to the likes of Tiger's Blood, lest things go from bad to absolute worst.

Personality

Anya, compared to both her husband and son, has a rather contrasting personality. She is much more analytical and cold on the surface, often seeming to have some degree of disconnect with what is going on around her with how eerily calm and curt she is. She is also a lot more strict in the sense that she likes to be organized and have a plan for everything, as opposed to most of the people around her preferring the "go with the flow" method of life. Despite this, Anya isn't a cruel or intentionally mean person, or least not intentionally mean just for the sake of being mean--she needs to get something tangible out of it for it to be worthwhile. She cares a lot about the few people close to her, she just... doesn't show it how most people would. She does go out of her way to assist Spiderbird as much as she can after all, despite the fact that the young hero is the daughter of her nemesis. The poor girl needs someone there for her, even if that someone would leave any other young hero for dead. So long as you don't get in her way nor do you threaten the safety of her family, you truthfully have little to fear from her.

Civilain design notes

  • Very, vary rarely smiles. Absolutely insane resting bitch face.
  • Has sharp teeth, particularly her canines, and somewhat slit pupils.
  • Square glasses.
  • Her usual white jacket has padded shoulders. Because she definitely needed to look more intimidating than she already is.
  • Has fire superpowers! Well, technically just fire breathing. The fire she produces burns blue and white.

Villain design notes

  • Head + face appears fully blacked out. Only a single glowing eye remains visible.
  • The jacket part of her suit is ripped and cut up to give the illusion of both a lizard's tail as well as shedding lizard skin. Neat!
  • Smoke is constantly eminating from the vents on her halfmask. Fire also bursts out of these vents when in use.
  • Claws on her boots are made of metal.

Fire breathing

Nautral ability

Anya has the odd quirk of seemingly being able to breathe fire. It's what got her the whole dragon nickname in the first place. Her power is thanks to the fact her saliva is highly flammable, and while it's a bit hard to light it up at will, with the assistance of a gas mask modified by her dear husband she can make for an extremely formidable foe. She still keeps a lighter on her at all times, mostly due to her smoking habit, but also for use in... emergencies. Her fire burns incredibly hot, though it also burns incredibly fast, so it doesn't tend to linger for very long once set. The burns it gives, however, are extremely nasty. Should you end up on her bad side, it would be advisable to invest in some extreme fire-proofing. Or some buckets of ice water.

Super strength

Nautral ability

Anya herself is also surprisingly strong. She has a streak of crushing people's hands by accident while greeting them. Coupled with the fact that she is trained in self-defense and can take quite a few hits, she is dangerous in a fight even if you take away her fire. Not only can she throw punches and chuck cars at people, she can also fairly easily climb up sheer surfaces through raw tenacity and grip strength. Like a lizard. What she has in physical strength and durability, she does lack in endurance. Though she can take quite a beating, longer fights will find her losing steam as using her strength gets exhausting quickly, so she likes to make things as quick as possible. She does have a job outside of the whole supervillain business, you know.

I'll write it... eventually!
