Whether you're also into worldbuilding and like seeing what other people are cooking or simply looking for more context in regards to my OCs and art, this is the place to read up on all of that! Worldbuilding, alongside OCs, is one of my biggest interests and hobbies, so I'm constantly working on it and shuffling things around. Consider everything in here a perpetual work in progress as I bounce between settings and work on whatever I feel like. Within the pages for each world, there will be information regarding the setting itself alongside information about the main storylines, if any, so you can better understand the lore of several of my characters better—whether they are main characters of something grand or just funny little guys who serve to flesh the world out just a little bit more.
Avalon
Cygnus was once a land full of magic and wonder, a freedom gifted to her by her gods—powerdul beings known as the Divas. The people of this world enjoyed their lives of devotion and safety, comforted and protected by their faith. That is, until it all came crumbling down thanks to the actions of a single beast masquerading as a dead man.
Ever since the death of Agape, the god of magic and warden to the terrible otherworldly disease sealed within the star, Cygnus has been rotting from the inside out thanks to a magical cataclysm known as the Rapture. Much of the world has been swallowed by a flood of pure, primordial, stagnant light as the planet itself bleeds and weeps, leaving most of the world completely destroyed and engulfed in crystal. Avalon is all that remains, and its people must fight tooth and nail to restore some semblance of peace from the endless onslaught of crazed angels and the malicious actions of their demented gods in hopes that one day the world will be restored. A pipedream, perhaps, but one that the people of Avalon would rather cling to than give up on their futures entirely.
Varos
Varos is the land where all life started, and the progenitor of the other two realms that mirror it. Having long since split from its reflections, it finds itself between the worlds of medieval and modern. Her magic is governed by worship, where the gods watch very, very closely. Though peaceful at the surface, centuries of malcontent and betrayal claw at the seams. And on top of all of that, a rogue chosen of Bahamut—of all the possible gods—has found himself at the epicenter of it all.
Varos (or Breadgetters, its much goofier unofficial name) is part of the trio of itself, Cygnus/Avalon, and Soteria that makes up what is half-jokingly called the Maxiverse. Though all three are their own worlds, they have overlap and are all observed by the same collective of gods, with each setting having a different group of the collective in control. For Varos, its the trio of Statera, Caedes, and Natus. Also please note that this setting in particular is actually primarily owned by my very good friend Possum! He's the one who owns most of the characters and writes most of the story while I do a lot of the worldbuilding and throwing Maxi into his carefully constructed house of cats and elves.
Soteria
Soteria was once a flourishing, verdant star. Once upon a time it was joined together as one paradise with its sisters, Cygnus and Varos. Those days are long gone, and now it exists as a mockery of its former glory. The star and its people have secrets to hide, and is at risk to be obliterated if humanity succumbs to the disease buried deep within the star's core. The fate of the dying star balances on the shoulders of a rag-tag group of underground hackers, alongside their newest recruit, and whether or not they can crack the secrets of the land and the monsters hiding among them before it's too late.
Teetering on the edge of dystopian and complete destruction, Soteria—also often simply called OG Verse—is watched over by the dying gods Bahamut and Tiamat. Powerless to stop the havoc being wreaked upon her beloved people, Bahamut threw out a single last Hail Mary to try and salvage what she can: a single, maladjusted clone harboring the very parasite that could spell her and her fellow gods' end. Whether or not that actually worked is yet to be determined, but life always seems to have a way to keep going no matter how bleak the forecast may be.
Supernormal
Supernormal is the collective name for an alternate timeline of Earth that takes place in the early to mid 2000's and all the stories set in it. Humans discovered the presence of a parallel world, known simply as the Afterlife. Through the use of a substance known as Ectoplasm, scientists accidentally created mutants—humans infused with the power of ghosts And the strange and mysterious monsters that exist beyond the veil—and in doing so also kickstarted the events that would leave most of Earth nearly uninhabitable.
Now, humanity lives in Safezones, places where the barrier between Earth and the spirit world is the strongest. Outside of these cities is a no man's land, known simply as The Wilderness, full of the abandoned remnants of a once bustling world and dangerous ghosts that have slipped through the cracks. Everything gets turned on its head again after monsters began to ransack places originally believed to be safe and horrifyingly show signs of having some strange and very dangerous form of rabies, leading to two highschoolers and a very disgruntled mutant on a quest to find a cure—and the source of the disease.
Monster Kids
Monster Kids is a collection of characters that mainly belong to a game I plan on potentially making in the future, all living in a decently-sized monster populated town called Deadwood. The main story takes place October High School, where someone accidentally put the school into a timeloop right before summer break stars. Oliver, Malcolm, and Andy notice this and end up on a journey to recover the seven Magical MacGuffins to break the loop and let the students go on summer break. Yes the plot is dumb but that's where half the fun comes from. I need a break from making edgy and angsty characters and stories.
While it's definitely the setting with the least actual worldbuilding compared to my other settings, mostly because of its much sillier subject matter and simpler premise, it still has some level of silly goofy worldbuilding that I would be remiss to not write down and document. The setting is very similar to the Monster Prom games, and doesn't take itself particularly seriously. Also I'm kinda upset that the idea of the dark worlds in Deltarune is like, exactly what half of the story of Monster Kids is. I'm stubborn and will not be changing it.
Dreamscapes
A universe governed by the dreams and wishes of its people, created by powerful beings born between the stars with the power to mold reality with their own wants and whims. Known simply as the Great Beasts, they have long since taken a step back to sleep soundly within their cradles so that their greatest creation—mortalkind of all shapes and sizes—may flourish beneath the stars they call home.
The Dreamscape is vast, with adventure and intrigue around every corner. From the fathomless oceans of the planets to the silvered sea of stars and moons—and even farther beyond—there are people with many, many tales to tell. As such, this is more of an anthology of stories and worldbuilding rather than one singular main story and world. Some tales and characters may belong to something big and grand, while others are simply there to have a good time and be a fun little slice of life. My current primary focus lies with three settings/groups: A primarily oceanic planet full of mystery and ancient secrets known as Argonautica, the logs and exploratory data from a group of spacefaring rabbits known as the Lunar Commission, and a liminal purgatory that is the resting place of a comatose Great Beast known as the In-Between.
elf torment nexus
The Abyss is a powerful, terrible thing. An embodiment of evil and raw primordial chaos, it is a force that consumes. Growing as a blight on the world, the Abyss is ever hungry, always gnawing in the back of your head and heart. And for the unfortunate souls who call this doomed realm their home, the Abyss is simply a fact of life. Live and love to the fullest, because there's no knowing if the world will still exist tomorrow.
Ever since the original sin was committed, the Abyss has begun to infect and consume the realm. The gods have left long ago with naught but an endless onslaught of undying demons in their wake. In fact, many folk fancy themselves as demon hunters, especially those who are part demon themselves. The only way to kill a demon is with holy weapons or by eating its heart, after all. And with a lack of blessings to throw about, a cambion is your next best option.
That is, if they can resist the call of the Abyss, at least.
